Show Business

Have I mentioned that I love doing craft shows? The one I did this past weekend was not a disappointment - fun, met some cool new people and sales were the best so far this year. Now with my next show 4 weeks from now, it's time to put it in high gear and hammer till I drop - or I drive my neighbors crazy.

We had a cold spell here and tricks and treats
were cold and frosty,
but today its 66 and that feels like a heat wave.

Have been drawing a bit here lately and
the elf houses turned out cute.

Started a zen doodle Koi this morning
Not seeing it in color - just traditional
zen black and white with shading.

So with the sewing machine covered with projects,
tons of jewelry to make and tossing in a little drawing
as often as possible - not to mention I've not started
my Christmas quilting - well this will cut into my
TV time for sure. I love being busy so this is good.
There is a possible book on the horizon too.

A few years before Bobby went home he sold this old truck to a dear friend of his.
This old truck he'd had since way before we were married.
We had spend so much time sitting on the tale gate talking about our day
and watching over the babies (dogs) while they were roaming the yard.
This old truck is special to me so I asked John to send me a photo with
the tale gate down and it's now the wall paper on my computer.
His kids named it Mater from the cars movie. Now mater has a good
home and like an old horse has been given a easy life in the country.

I am glad to hear that you had good sales this past weekend.

The elf house is adorable. I also love the koi but I would love to see it with a water color wash over (or under) it. If you don't mind I may play with that idea myself.

That truck reminds me of one my brother had. I am glad you are sustaining the precious memories of simple and peaceful moments.

Thank you so much for picking my card as one your winners from the teddies challenge, it is such an honour.
Thank you for all your hard work in making the challenge so successful, it's a shame that the challenge is ending but I can totally understand your reasons and wish you all the best.

Back to my everyday life

Well I've been most distracted last week with all the excitement of getting new counters and backsplash in my kitchen. There were only 2 things I wasn't thrilled with about my new house and now they are all the way I love. I did get a good bit of jewelry and sewing done while they were working in there just due to the fact I had to stay out of the way and I ended up in my happy room all day for several days. Forced into productivity - what ever it takes, right? I'm so tickled I have to show you. And a good thing my old counter tops went to a new home.  I also got the big one bowl sink I prefer. None of this was in my budget, but it makes me happy, I'll just cut back on, well most everything, but still got that big stupid grin going on.

I need to hang up my piggies don't I.

The weather here has been odd. Last week we were walking on the greenway in short sleeves and today it was in the 30's. Then we had a bad storm day yesterday, I was lucky and only got hail and …

Managing Time

One thing I have found during the last 10 months is I have trouble managing my time like I have in the past. Seems like distractions and life run all over the schedules I make. I sometimes wonder if I'm like the little dog in UP and get the squirrel distraction.
For what ever the reasons this blog has drifted off into my Scarlet area of "I'll deal with it tomorrow. "

With my first show of the year just a few weeks out I'd normally be in full swing of creating new pieces for the show. I have only started creating again a few months back and seem to be getting into the flow of working at my bench once again, thou now as regular as I did in the past.  Here are a few of the recent items.

This brass butterfly was given a rusted look with alcohol inks.
An old sewing machine bulb, the end of a fork and some wings created this pendant
The focal element of this necklace is from a vintage bracelet
Then one day I decided to get out the poly clay again.  I've not done anythin…
Today is a good day to stay in and work on projects and cook a big pot of veggie beef soup. The older I get the more I dislike cold weather. I have been busy with getting the etsy shop back up and loading items. The last 2 shows put a big dent in my inventory (yea!) so I need to be at the bench as much as I can.

I did spend the morning yesterday wrapping packages. I listened to Christmas music and it really got me in a happy mood.
Here is the new smaller tree.
It would seem that somehow in the move I lost or left all my wrapping paper.  So I got a new roll and a few bags.  I don't normally have it all matching.  My sister was teasing me that I'd had some of my wrapping paper for 10 years...maybe I had, hum.
My current quilting project is a table topper for a friend.  She is very fond of Red Birds.

Finished the big quilt that was on the "long arm" and how sad is this - I'm using it for a staging table for the items I'm listing on Etsy. I take photos, weigh jewelry and…
