Zen Coffee Note Cards

Yesterday I got all of my new Zen Coffee not cards posted on Etsy.
These can be purchased as singles and sets of 4 and 8.
You can mix up your sets any way you like. (6 designs)
Klunker of course and his new friend Sally.

 And the new cup series.
It's going to be raining all day today and I'm baby sitting. My friend's dog had surgery
yesterday and I"m going over to keep him company while his mommy and daddy are
at work. He's not fond of storms and it's going to be nasty today. You just shouldn't be
scared and in pain too, poor little guy. Think I'll give my hands a rest and read while
I'm over there today, and hope we don't hear the tornado sirens.

MICHELLE,
The Etsy shop has been closed for several years. I didn't go hunt down the image on Pintrest but it may have been a give-a-way I did on my blog at one point. This is an old post. If you are interested in getting any of the cards you can contact me threw facebook on my business page -

Sewing Withdrawal

With my next jewelry show a mere 15 days away I've needless to say been twisting and hammering to get new items ready. This will be the last show of the year and I really need to get busy with my Christmas sewing. I have 2 projects on the machine cabinet ready to jump into - but that will be after Nov 12 when the show is. I did combine my two loves last week thou when I was at Stefanie's sewing. I started the base for 4 different fiber jewelry projects. I've always wanted to make one of the big fiber bib necklaces and got a good start on that - it's not done yet thou. These smaller mixed media pieces are finished.

Happy to say that I sold one of my fiber art wall hangings on my Etsy shop today.  It's always such a great feeling to know someone loves your work.  I like making wall hangings and post cards the best.  The freedom of knowing I can put anything into the art and  let my creativity run amuck is a wonderful thing.   So Stars In The Sand is now history.

Cute Quilted Cat Toy

This is Bonnie. She is the new addition to my sister's home.  We went out to meet Bonnie a few weeks ago and you just can't go empty handed so I whipped her up a little toy. Weeks later she is still playing with it and  my sister hasn't even refilled it with cat nip
As you can see I didn't do anything fancy, but it is after all going to be chewed on. So here is the simple little pattern for Bonnie's Fish.

I did just a little quilting on the front as much for stability as looks. I cut the batting a bit smaller than the front fabric and quilted. The back has an opening for adding cat nip, so I cut back fabric into 2 parts and turned the edges. Then sewed all the parts together. Just think of it as a funny little pot holder. You know the ones that have the split in the back for your hand to stick in. There is no wrong way with this little toy. It's for your little friend, and they will only see joy in it. You might want to wash all the fabrics first to remove any sizing/d…

Sewing Withdrawal

Well it's just been days since I've done any sewing - 7 as of today. I do feel like I'm not quite centered when no creating is going on. I have had time to squeeze in a little doodling but that's about it.
With Earth day this month I wanted to share the tote bag I made from a bird seed bag.  There was almost nothing left over from the original bag. They only thing tossed out  was from evening up the bottom. The wonderful Edna showed me how to make this. The only thing you need to keep in mind is don't use your regular sewing machine needle. She had me get a leather needle and it worked great. I just used regular thread too. So now Angel has a big old tote for her treasure hunts at the flea markets/yard sales. The handles were cut off the top of the bag above where the pretty bird drawing is.

This morning I finished up Angel's hand print zen doodle. I used water color pencils to color this in - you use very little water. Just enough to blend the colors.

And speaking…
